Mission

The Nuclear Medicine of Castelfranco Veneto mainly deals with diagnostic activities with the use of the PET-CT method, being able to use a wide range of radiopharmaceuticals, which allows the study of most tumors with 18F-FDG, analogue of glucose , as well as prostate tumors with 18F-Choline and 68Ga-PSMA, neuroendocrine tumors with 68Ga-DOTATOC and brain tumors with 18F-FET. The method is used for staging, control of the effectiveness of the therapies and in the suspicion of disease recurrence.

Another important activity is that of scintigraphy for the identification of the sentinel lymph node in patients with breast cancer or melanoma. On the therapeutic side, the therapy of bone metastases in patients with prostate cancer is performed with the use of Radium 223.

The Nuleacr Medicine Unit includes the Nuclear Medicine Simple Unit located in Padua.
