Research lines 2018-2020

LINE 1 – EXPERIMENTAL ONCOLOGY

This research line involves the study of the genetic and molecular mechanisms underlying tumor heterogeneity and of the complex relationship between the tumor and the microenvironment, in both human tumors and preclinical models.

LINE 2 – IMMUNOLOGY OF TUMORS

This research line aims to analyze the interactions between immunity and cancer, and to identify, propose, and implement therapeutic solutions based on the stimulation of the effector components of the immune system.

LINE 3 – CANCER GENOMICS AND BIG DATA

The goal of the Cancer Genomics and Big Data research line is to validate methods and pathways that will allow the clinical oncologist to have, at the time of diagnosis, a detailed view of the mutational structure of the tumor, in other words, the molecular footprint of the tumor.

LINE 4 – CLINICAL AND TRANSLATIONAL RESEARCH AND INNOVATIVE CANCER THERAPIES

An essential component of research conducted at IOV is characterized by innovative clinical studies, precision medicine, and translational studies.

LINE 5 – NEW ORGANIZATIONAL MODELS: PDTA (DIAGNOSTIC AND THERAPEUTIC CARE PATHWAYS) AND INDICATORS

The main objective in the drafting of the Oncology Network's PDTA is to ensure promptness, adequate levels and continuity of care throughout the care pathway: from the moment the patient enters the pathway, to the multidisciplinary evaluation of his or her tumor, until complete remission or end of life.
